Donnie Yen set to star in “Sleeping Dogs” adaptation

Donnie Yen, martial arts expert and Chinese actor, has been cast in a movie adaptation of Square Enix’s “Sleeping Dogs.”

Sleeping Dogs was a huge hit when it released in 2012 on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Developed and published by Square Enix, the game’s basic premise was of an undercover cop from San Francisco who’s objective was to infiltrate the Triad organizations of Hong Kong.

The “Sleeping Dogs” movie is set to be produced by Neil Moritz (Fast and the Furious series) and has yet to find a director. Donnie Yen is infamous in China for his martial arts skills and choreography and is well known for his roles in the “Ip Man” series and more recently, “Star Wars: Rogue One.” Yen is proficient in in over 10 distinct martial art styles alongside being a pioneer of Wing Chun.
