The Artful Escape is everything a memorable indie game needs

The Artful Escape was one of the more memorable trailers for me during Xbox’s E3 conference this year. The game’s developer, Beethoven & Dinosaur, apparently tried to originally fund the game on Kickstarter under the name of The Artful Escape of Francis Vendetti, but failed to raise its amount before being picked up by publisher Annapurna Interactive.

Without revealing too much of the game’s plot, or anything, really, the game manage to draw my attention. According to the YouTube trailer’s description, “The Artful Escape of Francis Vendetti is a video game about great expectations, famous folk singers, lingering shadows, space Gods, hallucinogens, individuality, reptile shops, and wild imaginations.”

Based on the trailer, The Artful Escape [of Francis Vendetti] releases exclusively on the Xbox One “whenever it’s damn ready.”
